David Balke

I am a Senior Manager in the Cary office of DHW. I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy from Appalachian State University, where I was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary organization for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals. Prior to joining DHW in February 2009, my experience included 8 years of public accounting experience with regional and international firms and 12 years in private industry, holding the titles of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance & Administration.

In public accounting, my focus has been on assurance services (audit, review and compilation) as well as consulting and Medicaid and Medicare cost report preparation. Industries served include health care, manufacturing, and service. In my private industry experience, I was involved in strategic planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow management, cost accounting, human resources, technology development, quality control, and managing accounting and human resource departments. I have held positions in both manufacturing and service organizations.

I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), and obtained the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the NACVA. This certification is awarded after completion of intensive training, testing, and a detailed case study presentation. My unique combination of public accounting experience, senior management roles in private industry, and designation as a Certified Valuation Analyst provide a strong background for providing attestation, business valuation, and consulting services to DHW clients.
