Melissa Shronce

I am a tax principal in the Hickory office and have been with the firm sixteen years. I am a 1993 Cum Laude graduate from Appalachian State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During my career with DHW, I have gained experience in tax matters concerning corporations, S-corporations, individuals, partnerships, and limited liability companies. In 1995, I became involved in the firm's employee benefit plan practice. I now handle all aspects of the firm's benefit plan engagements, including planning, coordinating, and reviewing audits and Form 5500's that are prepared by the firm.

I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, I am a member of First Baptist Church Granite Falls and treasurer for Catawba Science Center and Hickory Soup Kitchen. I have also served as past treasurer for the Granite Falls Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Granite Falls Kiwanis Club. In 2009, I was selected as one of the "20 Under 40" from the Greater Hickory Metro Region.
