Susan Balke

I am a Tax Manager in the Cary office and began working with DHW in the Hickory office over 18 years ago. I am a 1992 Cum Laude graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University with a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy. I work extensively in the area of Estate, Trust and Gift taxation. During my career at DHW, I have gained experience in tax matters concerning closely-held family business consulting, planning and compliance, and I provide tax services for S-corporation, Individual, Partnership, Limited Liability Company and Non-Profit clients.

I have served as Treasurer for several Non-Profit Agencies in Catawba County, including the Humane Society of Catawba County, Rape Crisis Center, and Catawba County Council on Adolescents. I am a charter member of a small charitable organization, SamariTens, founded by a group of co-workers and friends in 2007 in Hickory. I am also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Wake County Estate Planning Council and of HART, NC, a Senior-Industry Networking Organization in Wake County.
