FIRM HISTORY
As of January 1, 2004, Davidson, Holland, Whitesell & Co., PLLC, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, established a second office in Cary, NC. This significantly enhances our ability to serve clients by extending our geographical coverage. This growth provides many opportunities to our present and future clients. The Firm has four members, seven managers, seventeen professional staff, and five support staff.
Davidson, Holland, Whitesell & Co., PLLC, was founded in 1990, and since then, the Hickory office has grown to be the largest locally owned firm in Catawba County (Hickory), North Carolina. The firm’s history really begins in 1981 when Glenn Jenkins founded W. Glenn Jenkins & Associates, CPAs. In 1985, W. Glenn Jenkins & Associates merged with a firm in Raleigh, North Carolina to form Durham, Martin, Jenkins & Co., CPAs. In 1990, we separated from that Raleigh firm and established the Hickory firm. Our reasons for merging and demerging with the Raleigh firm are simple. We first merged to further promote one of our specialty industries, healthcare. We demerged in 1990 when the Raleigh constituency decided to join with a national CPA firm. In Hickory, we believed that joining with a national firm would hinder our ability to provide personal service at a reasonable fee.
Davidson, Holland, Whitesell & Co., PLLC, is an independent member of BKR International, a leading global association of independent accounting and business advisory firms representing the expertise of more than 135 member firms with over 300 offices in over 70 countries around the world.
